The SMF is a non-profit charitable organization set up to promote and advance scientific progress in Singapore.It was established in 2001.

The SMF aims to promote research in Singapore and raise Singapore’s international visibility as a centre of knowledge creation -- a place where progressive researchers meet to exchange ideas, challenge findings and jointly advance the knowledge capital of the world.



The Board of Directors of the SMF comprises eminent international and local members of the community and industry.

The Board is assisted by a Secretariat, which works closely with Singapore universities and Research Institutes to accomplish the SMF’s goals.
