Objectives:
The SMF is a non-profit charitable organization set up to promote and advance scientific progress in Singapore. Established in 2001, the SMF aims to enhance the vitality and excellence of the country’s human resource base, promote R&D capabilities, and improve Singapore’s international visibility in the R&D arena.
Vision/Mission:
The SMF scholarships are awarded to those whose proposed research projects have a high potential of impact on R&D in the areas selected by the SMF for support, with the accompanying expectation that the lifelong careers of the recipients will be marked by significant contributions to research, teaching and/or industrial applications in science, technology and engineering. The scholarships are open to all nationalities, and the recipients are non-bonded.
The fields of research supported by the Foundation are:
